It takes a community to end homelessness.
That is the message coming from a collaborative effort of different Burnaby organizations, in time for Homelessness Action Week this month.
SPARC B.C., the Burnaby Board of Trade and the Burnaby Task Force on Homelessness have joined forces to help create a short video that outlines the homelessness issue in the city.
“Burnaby’s Inter-Faith Community has been chosen for the launch of this video in recognition of their significant contribution in working collaboratively towards finding solutions to homelessness in Burnaby,” said Wanda Mulholland, community development coordinator for the task force, in a media release.
The launch of the video, It Takes a Community to End Homelessness is part of a series of events throughout Burnaby’s Homeslessness Action Week from Oct. 13 to 19.
The inter-faith launch and world café of its video is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, room 103, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Preregistration is requested before Oct. 8 by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or 604-317-8114.
