Transit police are asking the public to help them identify a man accused of grabbing a 12-year-old girl's buttocks while on a bus to Burnaby's Metropolis at Metrotown shopping centre two weeks ago.

On Aug. 31 at 3: 45 p.m. the girl boarded an SFU express bus on Hasting Street, near the Pacific National Exhibition and soon noticed a man edging toward her.

The man followed her as she exited the bus at Hastings and Willingdon Avenue and even sprinted through traffic and across the street to board another bus with her to Metrotown.

As she waited near the front of the 130 Metrotown bus to get off at the Brentwood SkyTrain Station, the suspect allegedly pinned her from behind and grabbed her buttocks.

She got off the bus and ran to the SkyTrain station where she asked a woman for help and ended up taking a train to Lougheed Station where the two reported the incident to an attendant.

The suspect is a bald black male, 25-to 35-years-old, about 5-10 tall and wearing a black shirt with white stripes on the sleeves and small red label on the front right side.

Transit police are asking anyone with information on the suspect to call them at 604-515-8300 or people who wish to remain anonymous can call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
