A Burnaby man is $26 million richer thanks to a lucky ticket bought at Lougheed Town Centre last month.

Marcello Battiston won a whopping $25.9 million in the March 10 Lotto Max draw. He bought the ticket at International News at the Brentwood mall and was shocked to learn he’d won, according to a press release.

“I asked the clerk who checked my ticket, ‘Did I win $5?’” Battiston said. “The clerk said, ‘No! You won the whole pot!”’

Battiston plans to use the money to help his family and is already planning a trip to Hawaii with his wife, the release noted.

“I feel good about it,” he said. “I have more than enough money to live comfortably and help the family.”
