  1. Saturday, Nov. 28 is your last chance to catch Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg’s Porno Death Cult at the Shadbolt Centre. The show mixes theatre, comedy and dance in an exploration of faith and faithlessness when a woman, a preacher, a yogini and a god cross paths. Tickets are $35 for adults; $30 for students. The Shadbolt is at 6450 Deer Lake Ave.
  2. Don’t miss the Little Elves Christmas Craft Fair this Saturday, Nov. 28 at the Burnaby Neighbourhood House. This is a chance to shop locally and help others, as the sale is a fundraiser for Burnaby families in need. Local artisans will be selling home baking, preserves, knitted items, jewelry, plushies, silk-screened shirts and more. Students from the youth leadership program at the neighbourhood house are selling pre-packaged cookie ingredients in a jar with baking instructions. The jars are $12 each, and the goal is to raise $1,000 to help Burnaby families at Christmas. The neighbourhood house is at 4460 Beresford St., close to the Metrotown SkyTrain station, and the sale is on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Not all vendors accept debit cards, so bring cash just in case. Admission is by donation, and the money goes to the families.
  3. Check out Mistletoe Market on Saturday, Nov. 28, at Gordon Church in Edmonds. The event is on from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the church’s annual fundraiser, and proceeds go towards charity projects and fixing up the building. There will be more than 100 silent auction items, including Canucks tickets and gift certificates for restaurants. It’s a great opportunity to pick up some Christmas gifts while supporting a local church that helps the community. There will also be home baking for sale, a craft table for adults and games for kids. Shoppers can grab lunch (sandwiches and dessert); prices are $6 for adults, $3 for children. Gordon Church is at 7457 Edmonds St., just across the street from the Edmonds Community Centre.
