Wee ones in Burnaby were hopping down the bunny trail this past weekend, in search of sweets and surprises.

It was all part of Hillview Preschool's ninth annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 28.

"It was great. It was really successful," said Sabrina Badal, a mom who also volunteers at Hillview.

Based on tickets sales, roughly 150 children participated, with parents in tow. The event was open to the general public, not just the preschoolers.

There were two rounds of Easter egg hunts, a visit from the Easter bunny, face-painting and crafts.

Save-On-Foods donated all the hotdogs and veggie dogs, while Purdy's contributed chocolate and jellybeans.

Hillview is a registered non-profit parent participation preschool, where parents take on some of the duties of running the school to help keep the enrolment costs down.

The annual hunt is the preschool's largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds raised go towards school projects or buying new toys and supplies.
