Burnaby Mountain Secondary art students joined artist Todd Polich as he worked on a large mural in the northeast section of Burnaby, which was unveiled last Wednesday.
The mural - a nature scene painted on the retaining wall near the Sears Outlet store near Lougheed Town Centre - is part of the Burnaby North Road Business Improvement Association's beautification project for the area.
The image includes images of Burnaby's walking paths, Stoney Creek, transportation in the city, and a salmon release, according to the report from the City of Burnaby.
The artist, the school's students and faculty, and the association collaborated on the mural at 9850 Austin Rd. over several months, the report stated.
It was approved for a grant of $3,497.50 under the city's mural grant program, to cover half of the expenses of the installation.
