Young opera talent takes the stage in Burnaby

Emerging young opera talent was in the spotlight at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts this weekend. The Clef Society of Burnaby held its October concert on Sunday, featuring students from the UBC Opera Ensemble.

The Clef Society of Burnaby held its October concert on Sunday, featuring students from the UBC Opera Ensemble.

The students, directed by Nancy Hermiston and accompanied by Richard Epp, presented a program that previewed the operas to be featured in the UBC Opera School's 2011/12 season.

The UBC Opera Ensemble season includes performances of Robert Ward's The Crucible, Anton Dvorak's Rusalka and Franz Lehar's The Merry Widow.
