The Burnaby RCMP is continuing its search for Gui Feng Tong, a 66-year-old Asian woman who went missing from her Burnaby apartment two weeks ago.

Teams comprised of Burnaby RCMP members, Coquitlam Search and Rescue, Burnaby Fire Department, RCMP auxiliary officers and civilian volunteers have combed areas of Burnaby Mountain, surrounding trails and forested areas where Tong was last seen.

Staff Sgt. Chuck McDonald said in a press release: "Missing persons are always a priority for the Burnaby RCMP, but anytime we have a missing person of this age, coupled with activity that is out of their ordinary routine, we move into high gear. Given the length of time she has been missing, our concern is high".

The investigation has run non-stop since Tong's son Scott reported her missing on Jan. 18.

Appeals to the public for information have been made regularly over the past two weeks, and numerous sightings have been reported.

Tong is 5-0 tall and 100 lbs with a slim build. She walks and uses transit, and has no known medical issues.

She speaks no English or Cantonese, only a dialect of Mandarin.

If you have any information, please contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7922.
