SATURDAY MARCH 23

Japanese folk dance workshop, Shall we Japanese Folk Dance? Come learn some basic steps and a few easy dances and shine at the next summer festival or bon odori. No previous dance experience necessary. Male participants are most welcome.

Cameron Seniors Sunshine Sing-Along, 1: 30 to 3: 30 p.m. Sing, dance, and socialize over tea and coffee to your favourite popular oldies music with a live band.

The 2013 neighbourhood small grants program, information session, 6 p.m. at Gilmore Community School, 50 S. Gilmore Ave. Grants up to $500 offered for projects organized by Burnaby residents to improve local neighbourhoods, with one project awarded up to $1,000. Deadline for grant applications is March 31 at 4 p.m.

Free Buddhist seminar, "The Power to Change Comes from Within." Free workshop, memory and aging. This workshop explains how memory functions and how it changes as we age. Includes tips for maintaining and improving memory, and advice about when to seek professional help. South Burnaby Garden Club, holding its annual plant sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Royal Oak Avenue and Rumble Street, in the Buy-Low Foods parking lot. Many perennials, annuals, seedlings, gently used tools, etc., will be available at great prices. Not to be missed! This year's focus is on "edible garden."

Get walking, and join the Healthy on the Heights free community walk that takes place every Saturday morning at 9: 30 a.m., meeting at the front door of the Eileen Dailly Pool. Everyone is welcome for this 3.5km walk that takes you along the Hastings Street corridor where you can window shop in the company of friends and neighbours.
