The City of Burnaby honoured volunteers, businesses, athletes and sports organizations at this year's commemorative paving stone dedication ceremony.
The 2011 Citizen of the Year, Kehar Singh Aujla, took part in the ceremony, as did representatives from Business Hall of Fame inductee Carter Automotive Family, Sports Hall of Fame inductees, Burnaby Freemen, current and former councillors, and B.C. Seniors Games organizers.
The ceremony was part of the city's 120th birthday celebration.
A commemorative wall was also unveiled, recognizing the first Burnaby council in 1892, as well as current council members.
The celebration, which was estimated to cost $10,000, was funded by a provincial grant.
