Dear Editor:

I took my Christmas tree to Lougheed Town Centre on Saturday and was delighted to be met by a group of firefighters welcoming me to the chipping event.

What a great group of men! They took the tree, cleaned my plastic sheet, and offered me a hotdog and coffee.

Thank-you to these young men who made my day. I talked to one who told he me had waited for seven years to get into the department.

I asked if he'd made good friends but he said, "No, these are my brothers!"

We are blessed.
