An empty deflated boat along the Burrard Inlet shoreline has Burnaby RCMP officers wondering what's happened to the owner of the boat.
On Oct. 10, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Burnaby RCMP responded to tip about a deflated boat being found near the north end of Cliff Avenue.
Police believe the boat belongs to a man who was last seen fishing in the area on Oct. 9. The man is described as having a light complexion, possibly Asian, 5-6 to 5-10 tall, 25 to 35 years in age, with a slim build and short dark hair.
Police also located a suitcase that the man normally used to carry his boat to the shoreline.
The Coast Guard and the Vancouver Police marine unit are assisting in a search of the waterways in the area.
Police wish to identify the owner of the boat and suitcase in order to confirm his well-being.
Police have not received any missing persons reports in relation to overdue persons on the water and are not sure if the boat was abandoned by its owner or if the owner had an accident while on water.
If you are the owner of these items, or you have any information about the owner of these items, please contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7922.
