The Burnaby RCMP is looking for the public's help after 100 boxes of fireworks worth approximately $12,000 was stolen late Sunday or early Monday.

The fireworks went missing from a business in the 5900-block of Broadway Avenue sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night and 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning.

Police believe the culprits entered through a back door and once inside, they stole the fireworks as well a 50-inch television and a laptop computer.

Burnaby RCMP currently have no suspect descriptions and are warning the public that they may be trying to sell the fireworks prior to Halloween this Wednesday.

"Police are asking the public to report suspicious sales of fireworks," Cpl. Rick Skolrood of the Burnaby RCMP said in a press release.
