Monday is the last day to nominate outstanding Burnaby residents who have volunteered their hearts out.
The Kushiro Cup for Burnaby's 2012 Citizen of the Year is an annual award to recognize a local who has dedicated much time and effort to making the city a better place.
An ideal candidate is a volunteer who has put in time for the community in cultural, recreational or other non-elected civic activities.
A resume for the nominee must be provided, as well as the contact information and name of the candidate and nominator.
The written nomination submissions will be accepted until 4:45 p.m. on March 4, at the city clerk's office.
The chosen volunteer will be awarded the cup on May 3 at the annual city appreciation dinner held for volunteers and those who serve on boards, committees and commissions at the Edmonds Community Centre.
If you have a nominee in mind, mail the required information to 4949 Canada Way, Burnaby B.C., V5G 1M2, fax it to 504-294-8537, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
