The annual Light Up the Heights celebration took place on Saturday, despite the wind and rain.

The event, which ran from 3 to 5 p.m., included the annual tree lighting ceremony at Heights Fountain Square, music, warm drinks and treats, and visits from Santa Claus and The Grinch.

The Heights Merchants Association hosted the festivities and collected toys for the Burnaby Christmas Bureau on site.
