Crime scene investigators studied fingerprints, preserved evidence and looked over a crime scene at the British Columbia Institute of Technology two weeks ago.
But the forensic team was not investigating a local tragedy - these were Grade 10 to 12 students taking part in the annual week-long CSI Burnaby summer camp.
The students spent the last day, July 13, investigating a mock crime scene in forensic suits, using equipment to gather and process evidence.
Some of the skills taught at the camp include fingerprinting, conducting video and surveillance analysis, taking forensic photography, preserving DNA evidence, and conducting forensic knot analysis, according to a press release from the institute.
