Some strange scat was discovered on Burnaby Mountain by Derek Wilson, a Port Moody resident who suspects it was left by a bobcat or cougar.

Forget the snakehead fish at Central Park. A Port Moody man is warning the public to keep an eye out for wild, predatory cats on Burnaby Mountain.
"I suggest that this wildlife is a bit more scary than the alleged video of a Chinese snakehead fish in a Burnaby pond reported recently in the media," wrote Derek Wilson in an email to the NOW.
On May 15, the Port Moody resident noticed a strange pile of black feces while en route to a meeting at SFU.
"It was not the right shape for a black bear. It was too big for a coyote. As it seemed to be mainly composed of fur and bone fragments, then it wasn't from a domestic dog," Wilson wrote. Wilson figures the feces was left by either a bobcat or cougar, based on consultations with a field guide for mammals.
The NOW declined to question Wilson on the smell and texture of the animal droppings.
