Burnaby model found shot to death in Langley

Second degree murder charges laid in her death

Charges have been laid in the death of a Burnaby woman whose body was found in Langley Friday morning.

At about 5:30 a.m., Langley RCMP responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 232 Street and 64 Avenue. 

They arrived to find a man and a woman with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. 

The woman, 34-year-old Burnaby model Brandy Petrie was pronounced dead at scene, according to police,

The man, 20-year-old Avery Levely-Flescher of Surrey was transported to hospital but died of his injuries.

A male suspect was located and arrested near the scene. 

Travis MacPhail, a 21-year-old Langley resident, has now been charged two counts of second degree murder as well as possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, uttering threats and aggravated sexual assault. 

MacPhail is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
