How many people can say they've twice danced on stage with Bruce Springsteen?
Burnaby resident Muriel Corson is one such fan who got to have that experience Monday night at the end of a concert at Rogers Arena.
The 80-year old Corson has been to about 40 Bruce Springsteen shows in cities around North America, while her daughter Christine has seen him perform closer to 60 times.
"So he recognizes me now," said Corson.
At every show they sit as close as possible to the stage and always take a sign to get the Boss's attention.
On Monday night, Christine held up a poster that read "My mom can dance."
It worked, and Corson got a chance to prove it, for the second time.
In 2003, she was asked up on stage to dance with Springsteen and on Monday, she was delighted to get the invite once again.
"He spotted me when he came over to the side," she said. "First of all, I was sitting down and he came right up where we were ... and he leaned over and said to me, 'Oh, you still look great.'"
Springsteen helped Corson onto the stage where the two danced together to the rock legend's classic Dancing In the Dark.
"I was just enjoying myself. We were talking," she said. "It was really very kind. He's a very wonderful person."
Corson said she loves music of all kinds, including ballet scores and operas, though for her and her daughter, Springsteen will always take precedence.
"I hope he comes to Vancouver again," she said. "We'll be there."
