A fourth person was officially charged with manslaughter on Thursday for his alleged role in the May 17 death of Burnaby native Luka Gordic.

The suspect, 18-year-old Arvin Golic, whose named was not initially released because of a publication ban, appeared in North Vancouver court Friday morning for a bail hearing. Golic was denied bail and remains in custody at this time.

The 18-year-old is the one of two accused in Gordic’s death who remain in custody. The second suspect still in custody is 17 years old and was denied bail at a hearing on Wednesday, where two other suspects, also 17 years old, were released on bail into their parents care. They are required to abide by a curfew between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Golic’s next court date is scheduled for May 28.

All four accused have been charged with manslaughter for their alleged connection to the stabbing death of Gordic in Whistler last weekend.

According to investigators, Gordic’s death is the result of an altercation between two groups of young people that escalated into violence.

“This was a situation where a group of young people who knew each other had a dispute, which turned deadly,” Sgt. Stephanie Ashton, spokesperson for the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said previously.
