If you need a Grouse Grind fix, you better get it quick.

Metro Vancouver announced today that the popular hiking trail will be closed for maintenance for “three to four weeks” beginning Tuesday, May 22. Work will include rock scaling, danger tree removal, step repair and safety netting replacement in anticipation of another busy summer on the trail.

The trail is closed during maintenance work for the safety of hikers and work crews. Any hiker who disregards the closure will further delay the re-opening of the trail, according to a Metro Vancouver press release, as crews must suspend their work if anyone is on the trail.

The nearby BCMC Trail will remain open and hikers are encouraged to use it as an alternative.
