Environment Canada has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver, noting that 15 to 30 mm of rain is expected overnight and Saturday morning before tapering off midday.

“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads,” read the alert. “Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Don’t approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.”

Similar rainfall warnings have been issued for the Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, the Sunshine Coast and West Vancouver Island.
