We're into the final two months of 2012, and that means we're heading right into the heart of the holiday season. We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend, and we have a few more events sure to excite all locals.

Get blacksmithing on 2 Saturday, Nov. 3 for the Burnaby Village Museum's Blacksmithing 5 - Tong Making class, running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $75, but you'll learn a unique skill. Blacksmiths are unlike other artisans, as they make their own tools. Students in this class will make two pairs of light blacksmithing tongs: a pair of flat bit tongs made from 3/8 square stock and a second pair from flat bar stock using a twist technique. Both pairs of tongs are suitable for light blacksmithing. Students with no forging experience must take Blacksmithing 1. Students must wear steel-toed boots and should bring a drink and snack, as well as warm clothes in case of inclement weather. For more info, call 604-2974565.
3 Get watching B.C. high school football and try and complete a rarely-seen hat trick of football games. Start at 3: 45 p.m. at Mercer Stadium in New Westminster, just across the 10th Avenue border, where the Mt. Douglas Rams visit the New Westminster Hyacks. When that game ends, head down to Burnaby Lake-West, where West Vancouver visits St.
Thomas More, starting at 5 p.m. When that game ends, Notre Dame hosts Vancouver College.
Get rocking 4 to the soulful music of Groove N Tonic, playing on both Nov. 2 and 3 at the Admiral Pub and Grill at 4125 Hastings St. This six-member band knows how to rock the house and while you're enjoying the music, don't forget to enjoy some of the food at one of Burnaby's best pubs.
