It was all fun and games at Electronic Arts in Burnaby this Sunday, as local athletes met with Make-A-Wish kids for an epic video game battle.

Approximately 200 kids challenged the athletes, playing EA Sports NHL and FIFA games that have not yet been released to the public.

"Wish kids (and their families) have had to endure so much, and this event celebrates their strength and courage," Ross Hetherington, CEO of the Make-A-Wish B.C. and Yukon chapter, stated in a press release. "We cannot thank EA enough for making this day possible."

The challenge has taken place for the past 13 years.

"We are actively involved with Make-A-Wish throughout the year with our EA outreach program, but our staff is particularly excited about this event in its 13th year," Wendell Harlow, EA outreach and corporate giving Canada manager, stated in the release. "It is a chance for our staff to see their hard work in action, providing a special day for some very courageous kids in our community."
