Mounties are looking for witnesses who may have seen what caused the driver of a motorized scooter to lose control and crash Sunday evening.

Burnaby RCMP were called to the area of Union Street near Kensington Avenue, shortly before 7 p.m. on June 28. An initial investigation suggests the driver lost control of his brown-coloured scooter while on Union Street, possibly hitting a curb, and crashed, striking his head on the pavement, according to police.

The driver suffered serious injuries.
