Burnaby RCMP are looking for witnesses in a fatal motorcycle crash in Burnaby Saturday.

A motorcyclist was riding eastbound on Burnaby Mountain Parkway at about 11:30 p.m. and lost control of his motorcycle at Gaglardi Way, according to police.

The 51-year-old man was thrown from the motorcycle and later died, police said.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but police say it appears speed may have been a factor in the single-vehicle crash.

Burnaby RCMP is cautioning motorcyclists to obey posted speed limits and to always be prepared for the unexpected.
