The Tommy Douglas library branch is celebrating its fifth anniversary this Saturday.

The library, at 7311 Kingsway, is hosting a special celebration at 11 a.m. with music, food, a children's choir, activities, prizes and cake. Saturday's celebration includes a bagpiper and Mayor Derek Corrigan.

Members of the library's Knit2gether club helped "yarn bomb" the poles in front of the library. Librarian Anne Walsh said the yarn will be washed a re-used for other projectes afterwards.
