Dear Editor:
Re: your story about Burnaby’s strong financial situation. (City’s investments hit $1 billion, Burnaby NOW, Feb. 15).
While I’m happy to read that Burnaby’s monetary coffers are full, it is very hard to understand why some of this money is not being put aside for a permanent homeless shelter. Our citizens have spoken often enough about the need for such a shelter; let’s use some of Burnaby’s money for that purpose.
