A Burnaby/New Westminster girls' basketball team won the bronze medal at the provincial under-14 zone championships in Langley last weekend.

The BurWest squad of Siri Van Gruen, Zoe Roberts, Lindsey Bott, Justice Steer, Jacey Bailey, Anjelika Ku, Nikko Sahagun, Emma Forgie, Tea Canton and Katie Bruyneel helped defeat Surrey/Langley for the bronze.

The district reps also beat Vancouver East, Vancouver West and Richmond/Delta before coming up short against the eventual champions from Fraser Valley North.
