The Northwest Giants blanked the Valley West Hawks in last week's two-game series in the B.C. major midget hockey league.

The first-place Giants opened with a 3-0 win in Langley last Saturday before posting their 28th win this season with a 1-0 victory at the Burnaby Winter Club on Sunday.

Rookie Bo Didur posted his 18th win of the season in goal for the Giants. Anthony Conti counted the game-winner in the second period.

On Saturday, Sam Curleigh and Gavin Gould both collected a goal and one assist in the win. Brandon Del Grosso also chipped in with a pair of helpers.

This weekend, the Giants open their two-game series against the Northeast Chiefs at the Burnaby Winter Club on Saturday. Game time is 7: 45 p.m.

The two teams play again at Planet Ice in Coquitlam on Sunday morning.
