Burnaby Lake Rugby Club won the elite women's Lighthouse 7s title for a second consecutive year.

The women, including national team members Julia Sugawara and Maria Gallo, and a strong supporting cast of Laura Harmse, Kevenza Murphy, Genevieve Gratton, Devon Luca and Dep Capps, defeated rival Mudhens 170 in the tournament final.

The win put the Burnaby atop the B.C. Seven's women's standings with 22 points, four points up on Abbotsford.

In the elite men's final, Old Puget Sound finished with an unblemished record, downing Bayside 32-5 in the final for a second time on the day.

Burnaby Lake, winners in the opening Vancouver 7s, and Bayside are deadlocked in the men's standings both with 24 points.

Burnaby Lake's under-19 team was a surpise in the social division, earning a spot in the semifinals before being knocked off by clubmates Devlin Party ot 7, who were beaten 3414 by Youngbucks in the final.
