Mountain United FC celebrated two recent U.S. tournament successes as their girls’ under-17 and u-18 teams both came back with impressive first-place finishes in two separate premier soccer level U.S. Winter Classic College Showcase events - one in Seattle and the other in Portland.
Mountain FC's u-17 girls’ team started off 2015 on the right foot following a challenging & competitive trip to the Canadian nationals in October. The girls won the championship trophy at the Pacific Northwest Winter Classic College Showcase in Seattle, Jan. 16 to 19.
The u-18 girls matched their younger counterparts by claiming the FC Portland Premier Winter College Showcase in Oregon. This team captured the BCSPL league championship back in November and the players will be keen to maintain their form as they enter the final phase of youth soccer in the BCSPL.
“Both teams are to be congratulated for their undefeated runs at these two tournaments and for once again displaying an impressive brand of MUFC soccer,” said Mountain United FC technical director Frank Ciaccia.
