North Burnaby Boxing Club scored a couple of wins on a recent professional card at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington.
WBC national heavyweight champion Adam Querido, trained by Mihai Afloarei, won his pro debut by knockout in the third round over Micky Walker.
Querido finished his opponent with a right uppercut and right hook to win by a technical knockout.
“(Querido) did everything perfect,” said Afloarei. “But he needs to use his right (hand) more. If he used it more he would have finished him in the second round.”
Dave Robinson also won, defeating Daryl Gardiner of Spokane on a unanimous decision to improve his pro record to 2-0.
