The Burnaby-born hockey player has signed a contract with the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League, after spending the past year with the Berlin Polar Bears of the Deutsch Elite League in Germany.
The 5-foot-11 forward has 74 NHL games on his resume, and will be skating for the Arizona Coyotes’ top farm team. In his three-year stint up and down with the Colorado Avalanche, Olver counted 10 goals and 12 assists.
“Mark has the ability to create offense and brings lots of speed to his game,” Roadrunners general manager Doug Soetaert said in a press release. “He is a solid veteran forward with a winning attitude and we look forward to having him in Tucson this season.”
Last year with the Polar Bears, the 28-year-old Olver counted seven goals and nine assists in 36 games. His last stint in the AHL was in 2013/14, when he tallied 15 goals and 34 assists over 65 games.
He was drafted 180th overall by Colorado in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
