The Simon Fraser University student athlete advisory committee went above and beyond this term.

The 25-member committee, comprising representatives from each varsity Clan sport, took its mandate of enhancing the total student athlete experience to whole new level, raising money in support of Make-a-Wish Canada and running a food drive for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

Over the past two months, the Clan group raised more than $700 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the charity of choice of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division IL.

The committee hosted homemade bake sales at Clan home basketball games, while also hosting its first "Let's Can Hunger" food drive in support of the local food bank.

Students filled 18 boxes of non-perishable food items that were donated to the program.
