Submit those Cherry Blossom Festival haikus

There's not much time left to submit your poems, but that's OK, because they shouldn't take long to write, anyway.

The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival's seventh annual Haiku Invitational is open for submissions until Monday, June 24.

The haiku, a traditional Japanese poem, consists of just three lines of 17 syllables when written in English.

Traditionally written about nature or the human experience, the contest asks participants to write on the theme of "what comes to mind when you think about cherry blossoms?"

Writers can submit up to two previously unpublished haiku poems.

For more information on the contest or to submit your poetry, visit www. vcbf.ca.
