Artist Diane Moran was on hand at Deer Lake Gallery on Oct. 1 to help local residents get their hands on art.

Moran's show, Creative Connections: A Hands-On Approach to Community Art, is on at the Deer Lake Gallery until Oct. 8.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, she led a special hands-on workshop as part of Culture Days celebrations in the city, giving people a chance to create a collage, poem or drawing to be displayed alongside her work.

The Creative Connections exhibition includes work Moran created in collaboration with students during projects at local schools, including Second Street Community School, Cascade Heights Elementary, Burnaby Mountain Secondary, Cariboo Secondary and Queensborough Middle School.
