The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is finishing up its Lounge Series on April 12 with a performance by Juno Award-winning pianist, singer and composer Tyler Yarema.
"Tyler Yarema channels all the smoothness of the classic crooners like Sinatra or Bennett, and does it with cheekiness and panache," said Cory Philley, theatre and facilities coordinator for the Shadbolt, in a press release.
Yarema has been a twice-weekly regular per-former at the Reservoir Lounge in downtown Toronto for more than a decade.
He's also played on more than 50 albums and at festivals, corporate events, weddings and theatre shows nation-wide. He will perform a number of types of music at his show in Burnaby, from blues and jazz to reggae and pop.
The show starts at 8 p.m. on April 12, at 6450 Deer Lake Ave.

Artists' Guild show at Shadbolt
Now that it's officially spring, the Burnaby Artists' Guild is ready to showcase its latest at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
The 51 Shades of Spring show is one of two annual exhibitions hosted by the guild.
This one will feature work by guest artist Luise Schulz, who's been painting for more than two decades and has had her work shown in Italy, Mexico and the United States.
Along with Schulz' art, there will be a selection of art by other artists, both professional and non-professional, some of whom will be on hand to give demonstrations and discuss their work.
An opening reception will be held on April 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. and the show will continue on April 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Guests will be able to buy raffle tickets for an original painting, buy art cards and fridge magnets created by the artists and enter a competition for $1 to name an abstract painting. The winner will get half the proceeds, with the other half going to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation.
