- To safeguard the financial strength and integrity of the city’s reserves. A strong city means a stronger community.
- To ensure Burnaby’s growth continues to be managed as we build safe, strong town centres with employment, and first class recreational and social amenities.
- To assist with the implementation of Burnaby’s environmental sustainability process ensuring Burnaby remains a leader with green prosperous employment and high-tech opportunities.
Top 3 Issues:
1. Keeping rates of taxation low for Burnaby citizens without sacrificing financial security (reserves).
2. Ensuring growth remains in our town centres and in accordance with our adopted community plans.
3. To identify further opportunities for inclusion into city and developer projects such as green energy, a lower carbon footprint, reusable building materials and better neighbourhood amenities such as bike and pedestrian paths.
