There've been several Public Disco events across Vancouver over the last few years.

A lot on Granville Island is going ot be turned into a party spot for one day this summer.

Public Disco's summer series of events will be turning it into the Granville Island Block Part for free, all ages celebration at the iconic Vancouver location.

The party runs from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 8.

"The event will transform Lot 55 behind Granville Island Brewing into a vibrant, fully licensed event venue," state organizers in a press release.

Public Disco, a non-profit public space events organization, runs a series of similar summer events in Vancouver; in this case there will be DJs, vendors (in addition to the many shops already on Granville Island), dance performances, food trucks and more.

And it'll be full licensed for those hoping to get something to sip at the outdoor disco. And there will be a kids area.

“We are so excited for the Granville Island Block Party to kick off our 2024 Summer Series, and contribute to our goal of bringing people together to connect through music in public space” says the organization's executive director Nickolas Collinet in the release.

While the organization has "Disco" in the name, there will be a variety of music being played by DJs, including hip hop, funk, house, disco, reggaeton, and baile funk.

“We are grateful to host this event in partnership with Granville Island, marking the start of a summer full of fantastic outdoor events for locals and tourists to enjoy!” says Collinet.
