Staff members at Real Canadian Superstore locations across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley continue to be among those newly confirmed as being infected with coronavirus (COVID-19), including at one Surrey store where the company is reporting "multiple" employee cases.

Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, and other local chains, provided updates to its COVID-19 employee case listings on March 22, indicating the following affected stores in Metro Vancouver:

  • Real Canadian Superstore, 7550 King George Boulevard, Surrey: Multiple team members tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 8195 - 120th Street, North Delta: Three team members tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. The last day the team members worked was on March 16, March 17 and March 18.

Neither of the store locations is considered a public exposure site by Fraser Health.

Previously, on March 20, Loblaw reported a new team member coronavirus infection for its Superstore on 160th Street in Surrey. The last day that employee was at work was March 9, according to the company.

On March 18, Loblaw announced multiple new employee COVID-19 cases at Metro Vancouver stores, including several at Shoppers Drug Mart locations across the Lower Mainland.

Sobeys, Inc, the parent company of Safeway and Thrifty Foods, and franchisor of discount grocery chain FreshCo, has recently indicated on its case tracker that an employee working at one of its Fraser Valley stores has tested positive for the virus, as well as one in Metro Vancouver. The affected stores are as follows:

  • Thrifty Foods - 11895 226 St. Maple Ridge: The last day the employee worked was March 15
