Five local beauty parlours in the city were selected as finalists in the first annual B.C. Hair and Beauty Awards recently.
The new awards aim to recognize hair and beauty specialists and salons that strive for excellence, both in their work and in their customer service, according to a press release.
“The awards celebrate the amazing breadth of talent and style that flow in British Columbia as well as the efforts and commitment of the very best professionals that put in ensuring their customers always receive high-quality services and innovative treatments that are second to no-one.
“They will also honour those who have the customer satisfaction as top priority and work within hair and beauty salons where excellence is a standard,” notes the release.
Burnaby finalists include: Helena Young, Madison Avenue Boutique Hair Studio, colour technician of the year; Glossy Nails, nail salon of the year; J & C Spa, beauty salon of the year – Lower Mainland; KromaTik Hair & Makeup Studio and Madison Avenue Boutique Hair Studio, best hair salon of the year – Lower Mainland; and Alia Wellness Centre, massage parlour of the year.
