We’re at that point now when small talk basically consists of, “Are you ready for Christmas?”

Yeah, that kind of sucks (so does hearing Paul McCartney’s Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime while you’re stuck in a long check-out line), but it’s an inevitable part of the Christmas and holiday season.

There’s so much work, preparation, planning and shopping to do that’s it’s pretty much all anyone talks about.

To help with all of this work, Metropolis at Metrotown announced it is extending its holiday shopping hours.

From Dec. 19 to 23, the mall will be open until 10 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. – giving people a little extra time to get that shopping done.

On Boxing Day, the mall will be open earlier at 8 a.m. and later at 10 p.m.

Walmart is also open until midnight if you’re looking to shop when things are a little quieter. I’ve gone out at 11:30 p.m. before and gotten things done in a fraction of the time.

Good luck, everyone. The next few days will be a blur.
