The intersection of University Drive and Gaglardi Way isn’t just a place to make decisions about where you want to go – it’s a place for families to hang out.
Namely bear families.
Black bears frequently come out of the woods at the top of the hill along University Drive and sit at the top, watching the vehicles whiz by.
The above video, taken on Friday (June 1) at 5:30 p.m., shows a mama bear and three cubs sitting in the grass and people pulled over to take photos and video.
Then they wandered up the hill and disappeared.
Just another lazy afternoon on Burnaby Mountain.
