Keep your child's nose in a book this summer with the New Westminster Public Library's Summer Reading Club.

What better way to cap off a summer of reading than with pancakes, music and face painting?

The Summer Reading Club’s medal ceremony will do just that on Saturday, Sept. 7 in the Burnaby Civic Square next to the Bob Prittie Metrotown library branch at 6100 Willingdon Ave.

Kids who completed their summer reading commitments will receive medals donated by CUPE BC.

The pancake breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the medal ceremony at 11 a.m.

Organizers encourage attendees to walk, bike or take transit to the event and it will go ahead, rain or shine.
