A winner on the BC/49 draw had to look over his shoulder when he checked his $75,000 winning ticket at a kiosk.

Cory Wilkinson, of White Rock, was sure someone was playing a prank on him, despite the machine telling him he had won $75,000 from the BC/49 draw on Saturday, July 18.

Wilkinson purchased the winning ticket from the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre on the White Rock/South Surrey border and decided to check his ticket at a lottery kiosk during his day off.

“At first, I didn't believe it and looked around to see if someone was…playing a prank,” he said. “It still doesn't feel real. It's really hard to explain. It feels different.”

Wilkinson says he plans to wait a bit before deciding what to do with his winnings.
