Are you a NaNoWriMo survivor who's now wondering what to do next?

With National Novel Writing Month behind us (that happens in November every year, for the unitiated), a local writing group is offering a writers' meetup at the Burnaby Public Library's Tommy Douglas branch on Wednesday, Jan. 16.

The Other Eleven Months is an organization that has hosted weekly write-ins around the Lower Mainland for more than 12 years. The gatherings are described as "quiet, safe space events for writers of all kinds."

"If you can't find a place to focus and write, these events may be great opportunities for you to accomplish your writing goals," an event write-up says.

You can just drop in - there's no need to sign up ahead. Tommy Douglas library is at 7311 Kingsway, and the meet-up runs from 5 to 8:50 p.m. Meet-ups are also set for the following two Wednesdays, Jan. 23 and 30. See www.bpl.bc.ca/events for more on the sessions.
