Several more major Canadian grocery stores operating in Metro Vancouver have posted new employee coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. Affected stores include those located in Vancouver, Surrey, Coquitlam, and Langley in the Lower Mainland.

Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, and other local chains, provided updates to its COVID-19 employee case listings on April 17-18 indicating cases at the following store in the Lower Mainland:

  • Real Canadian Superstore, 7550 King George Boulevard, Surrey: The last day the team member worked was on April 14.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 3185 Grandview Highway, Vancouver: The last day either of the two team members worked was on April 6 and 11.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 2332 160th Street, Surrey: Multiple team members tested positive for COVID-19. (No dates provided)
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 1301 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam: The last day the team member worked was on April 11.

While T&T Supermarket is owned by Loblaw, the Canadian Asian grocery chain lists its COVID-19 cases separately on its own site

On April 15, the company reported a new case affecting an associate at one of its B.C. stores:

  • Chinatown Store - 179 Keefer Place, Vancouver: The last day the part-time employee worked was on April 7

Sobeys, Inc, the parent company of Safeway, Thrifty Foods, and franchisor of discount grocery chain FreshCo, indicated on its case tracker that an additional employee at one of its Metro Vancouver Safeway stores has been confirmed as having COVID-19. That case is as follows:

  • Safeway - 6153 – 200th Street, Langley: The last day the employee worked was on April 11

None of the above-listed stores are considered coronavirus "public exposure" sites by Vancouver Coastal Health or Fraser Health.
