Employees at two home improvement stores in Metro Vancouver are among recently-confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Metro Vancouver's Fraser Health region.
Lowe's Canada, which tracks all its store employee COVID-19 cases on its corporate website, has reported two stores with infected workers in B.C.'s Lower Mainland in the last week. The store information is as follows:
- RONA Burnaby - 7260 Edmonds Street, Burnaby: Last workday of the infected associate was March 18
- Lowe's Queensborough - 1085 Tanaka Court, New Westminster: Last workday of the infected associate was March 12
Fraser Health does not list either store among its public exposure warnings for the region.
In addition to the Lowe's and RONA banners, Lowe's Canada also owns Dick's Lumber. A Surrey outpost of Dick's Lumber reported an employee COVID-19 case earlier this March, and that store was listed as a public exposure location back in the fall, when a warning was issued to customers who had visited the site anytime during a period of days in late September and early October.
Lowe's is one of the few major Canadian retailers with B.C. stores that reports store worker coronavirus cases publicly, joining grocery retailers Loblaw and Sobeys, as well as fast-food chain McDonald's Canada in doing so.
