There were 25 new COVID-19 cases in Richmond in the past week, according to data released by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) on Thursday afternoon.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Richmond since the beginning of the pandemic is 362.

Richmond has had 164 cases per 100,000 population, whereas neighbouring Vancouver has recorded 433 per 100,000 population. The total cases recorded cases in Vancouver is at 2,928.

On Thursday, Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 274 new COVID-19 cases province-wide, the largest number ever reported in one day and the fourth recording setting day in the past six days.

There are 1,920 active cases across the province, of which 71 are in hospital and 24 in intensive care.

Last week’s total number of cases in Richmond was 337, with 60 new ones reported in the two weeks prior to Oct. 15.

To be tested for COVID-19, Richmond residents can go to the Richmond Assessment Centre, just north of the hospital at 6820 Gilbert Rd.
